So coming off our 21-day fast to start the New Year, I have many mixed emotions and one new way of life.
Overall, I am a weak sister! I spent more time on the fast seeking ways to eliminate cravings than I ever did seeking more of God. I let myself down more times than I ever expected and felt disappointment almost as often as I sensed the favor and Presence of God.
However, there are two life-lessons that God has poured into my heart that I hope will guide my daily life for the rest of my days.
First, that life is lived best in the moment, every moment, rather than wasting or missing moments being stressed about the next moments. More on that in a later post.
Second, God promises me, and I think all of us, JIT Power that I can count on and actually presume will always be available. JIT Power is Just. In. Time. Power.
Here is what I have learned: Jesus, through His Holy Spirit, will give me every resource I need, just in time. Almost never early and never, ever late. Just in time.
By resource I mean wisdom, clarity, revelation, energy, focus, money, miracles, etc. Anything I need, He will provide - just in time.
Now I am learning to rely upon this and push stress, worry or fear away as I approach the exact time I need the resource of the day. You know how this is - you get increasingly nervous as time passes and your time for decision, provision, or crisis is approaching. But that is not necessary. You can actually remain calm and confident that the Lord will not be late and actually enjoys your fearless expectation of just-in-time provision.
Whatever you need, He will provide - right when you need it.
